Te Ora Hau is the
name we gave to the fare (houses) for guests
we built on our family's land in Moorea |
| "Te Ora" means life and "Hau"
means harmony in peace. It is through these values that you will be
greeted and welcome in our little paradise on the lagoon and in our
fare where you will feel at home. |
 |
| As you enter, you will
fall under the spell of the white sand garden where the scents of
ylang-ylang blend with tiare tahiti, honeysuckle, basilic, jasmine,
plumeria and gardenia. |
| We lead you to the fare of your choice:
Ata, Hina or Manu. |
| You discover and enjoy
the patio, the white sand beach, the lagoon spreading in blue and
green, the motu(îslet) with its coconut
trees resting on the white line of the reef and, in the background,
the island of Tahiti and its high mountains where the golden rays
of the sun awake you in the morning. The rythmic sound of the waves
beating on the coral calls you, you are here... |
 |
 |
| Heipua is my
name and, with my children, we are happy to share with you what
is dearest to us: our island and our land, our sea and our sky.
|
| Our island's wise men have tales
about our unique mountains watching over the children of Moorea,
beautiful and slim mountains when they wrap themselves in a
sheer cloud shawl. |
| They taught us about the healing
qualities of the plants, the beat of the drum, the call of the
conch and the charm of the flute. With patience, they reminded
us of the importance of the word and the verb for our people. |
 |
| After dark, when
we raised our eyes up to greet the stars, we used to tell their
name to ourselves to give them life, so they would guide our
canoes on this ocean that many like to call the "Pacific". |
| Pacific is our people,
pacifc is our attitude, in the life which has inspired Te Ora
Hau. |
